Steven has a Masters degree (cand.mag.) in English and Art History from Southern Denmark University-Odense Campus and the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

He has been a part of the VISL project (English) since June 1997. He has also taught English grammar workshops at the university since Fall, 1996. In addition, Steven is preparing a Japanese grammar site as part of the VISL project. He has studied Japanese at the University of Maryland (extension) Yokosuka, Japan and at California State University, Los Angeles, where he holds a BA in Liberal Studies/Economics. Steven wrote his thesis on the grammar and lexicon of space and time in English. From a cognitive/functional linguistic perspective and inspired by recent architectural theories on space, the thesis examines frames of reference for spatial linguistic forms and tense-aspect in English.

Steven recently completed his teaching credentials at Odense Katedralskole.
